The fall season is coming and soon we will contemplate and enjoy spectacular landscapes with yellows, toasted and reds colours. Today I would like to share with you some places around the world which I have visited in this season and where forests have a very special beauty.

  1) Asheville, North Carolina, USA.

Asheville is located in an area with mountains, beautiful scenery and trails. A couple of years ago, I was fortunate to visit the Blue Ridge Parkway that connects to the National Park of the Great Smoky Mountains in Shenandoah in Virginia National Park and is one of the ten best scenic drives in the country where you can contemplate beautiful landscapes like this one:

2) Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo is the biggest city in the world with more than 35 million people and has an amazing culture. I had the good fortune to visit Tokyo in autumn last year and I have to say that parks and Japanese gardens exude a unique and impressive delicacy with reddening of the leaves, which is known as Momiji (紅葉) although momiji kanji, it can also be read as Koyo or kouyou.

I recommend you visit the gingko Meiji Jingu Gaien, whose leaves are tinged with gold and are ideal for walking.

3) Otago, New Zealand

Otago, is a wilderness area of lakes, with rugged mountains and wonderful millenary waterfalls . What impressed me the most when I was there were the precious reserves of plants and the trees because they are uncommon.

4) Llanrwst, Wales.

This small region of Wales, will captivate you. Llanrwst has very surprising and hidden places and the forests have great natural beauty.

Autumn colours surround the Tu Hwnt i'r Bont tearooms on the banks of the River Conwy
